Wedding Cupcakes
Wedding cupcakes are extraordinary surprises – you look at them and you know what you see, you identify colors, flavors, decors and motives, but you only get to know what marvel you are holding in your hands after you taste it. Choose them for your wedding reception’s dessert and everyone will be more than pleased.
Establish the most important details
Obviously, when you start thinking of how to make cupcakes and cupcake wedding cakes, you set up a budget. Then, you think of how many guests you have invited. You obviously need to have at least that many cupcakes as friends you are expecting and it would be even wiser to have a double number just to be sure. Finally, how are your cakes going to look like? Placed on tiered stands and with a mini cake on top or just simple stands?
Choose decorations
You want them all to look the same or you feel like innovating and bringing new accents on every single cupcake? You can consider tinny toppers with the groom and the bride, made of chocolate, marzipan or fondant, symbols such as flowers, swans or doves, initials on colorful hearts, just floral designs, bows, chocolate chips or even natural flowers? Buttercream, chocolate, cream or fruit tops are other options to consider.
Decide for presentation
You can find all sorts of cake stands on the market. Round tiered or square, made of metal, plastic, ceramic or acrylic. Try to match the stand with the table – round stands and round tables for example. And speaking of round decors, you could have a tiered stand in the center and many other cupcakes surrounding it on the table, by the very same pattern.
Choose a recipe
Cupcakes are pretty much like muffins. You need a good dough, baking forms and good quality ingredients. You can make them simple with vanilla or chocolate flavor. You can use specific ingredients to give them a special taste and you have the freedom to mix flavors. Pink lemonade cupcakes, apricot cupcakes, vegan cupcakes, lavender cupcakes, more cupcakes, black forest cupcakes and ginger cupcakes are among the most popular ones.
A few tips
After you have baked the cupcakes, you should consider decorating them. You obviously need decorating bags with special tips that will pop out the filling in a specific shape. Buttercream is a common and still delicious option, but royal icing, whipped cream and fudge frosting deserve a chance as well. If you intend to have cupcakes placed directly on the table, you should buy special little favor boxes to put them inside. As for the central cake stand, it should be assembled at the reception after you have individually transported the cupcakes.11
